Thermal Omposition Dolomite
The decomposition of dolomite was investigated in a bench‐scale fluidised bed reactor (30 cm diameter) at temperatures between 600°C and 1000°C in batch and continuous operations. The composition of the solids was determined by X‐ray analysis, the gas composition by infrared (i.r.) spectroscopic analysis.
Dolomite is used to describe both a mineral and a rock. The mineral is the pure form with a defined crystal structure and chemical formula, whereas dolomite rock is composed chiefly of the mineral Dolomite, but also contains impurities such as Calcite, Quartz, and feldspar.
Dolomite content in the PC/ABS/dolomite composites was varied ranging from 0 to 15 wt.%. The composite samples were then tested for mechanical, thermal and flame retardancy properties.
